Della Adams: GIS Program Manager

Della Adams is a graduate of the University of Memphis with a Masters Degree in Geography with a concentration in GIS Technologies. Ms. Adams has over fourteen years of experience in the technology and GIS sector. In her current position as GIS Program Manager for the City of Memphis, Ms. Adams is responsible for the strategy and oversight for the development and ongoing support of an Enterprise GIS platform to serve as a central portal for data management and web-base applications, providing project management for all GIS related initiatives and establishing GIS and GIS related technology policies for the City. Previously Ms. Adams held positions of various capacities in the technology and GIS sector for the Memphis Chamber of Commerce including Director of the Memphis Technology Council, Director of Technology Economic Development and Director, Data Systems & Information Services. Under Ms. Adams’ direction the City of Memphis won a global honor, ESRI’s “2008 Special Achievement in GIS Award” (SAG Award). Ms. Adams currently has several professional and philanthropic affiliations including serving as a Board of Director for the Society of Information Management (SIM) Memphis Chapter, President of the Board of Directors for the YWCA of Greater Memphis and Founder and Past President of the Memphis Area Geographic Information Council (MAGIC). 

Peter Pace: GIS Technical Coordinator

Mr. Pace has over 25 years experience in GIS and is responsible for coordinating technical functions for implementing projects to serve the various GIS-related needs of the City divisions. Other responsibilities include overseeing the maintainance and monitoring of the City’s Enterprise GeoDatabase. He works with City divisions on their GIS needs (organization, data, applications and analyses) and coordinates others who provide GIS data, mapping tools, and systems architecture support. Mr. Pace holds an undergraduate degree in Geography (SUNY at Buffalo) and advanced degrees in both Geography (USC) and Computer Science (Johns Hopkins). He has worked on projects for a number of federal agencies including NASA (Landsat and the Space Telescope), CIA, Department of Energy (ORNL), Department of Defense (Navy) and the US Army Corps of Engineers. He has taught GIS at the college level and authored several articles and a chapter on GIS. Mr. Pace is a member of the Memphis Area Geographic Information Council (MAGIC) and the Tennessee Geographic Information Council (TNGIC). He is a Certified Mapping Scientist (GIS/LIS) by the American Society for Photogrammetry and Remote Sensing, a Certified GIS Profressional (GISP) and the former US representative for the Institute for GIS in Education. 

EGIS is supported by GIS analysts, GIS developers, a GIS database manager, and a GIS systems administrator.
